ECOTOURISM WAS A SUCCESS

May 7, 2017 a trip was held in the Hirkan National Park, organized by the AGS. It was attended by the staff of the Institute of Geography, students and teachers of BSU and ASPU, masters-geographers and just nature lovers.
First they visited the administrative building of the national Park. The Deputy Director of the Park for Science Hajiagha Safarov met the guests, informed them in detail about the park and answered the questions of interest to them.
Then the participants visited the reservoir Khanbulanchay. They saw surrounding areas and the lake and removed the debris from the coastal zone. They also went to the forest Moscow, located 21m below sea level. In the forest they observed firsthand rare relic and endemic tree species: iron tree, silk acacia, oak, Hirkan figs, Caucasian persimmon, etc and received detailed information about them.
It was noted that documentsere prepared and submitted for inclusion of the Hyrkan forests in the list of the UNESCO World Natural and Cultural Heritage.
