ECOTOUR IN SHIRVAN NATIONAL PARK

In accordance with functions of Azerbaijan Geographic Society, in order to learn more about Azerbaijan and show it to others it was decided to start trips to various parts of our country.
In this context, at the initiative and with the support of the Company’s President, academician Ramiz Mammadov, 14 February 2016 was organized an eco-tour in Shirvan National Park. In the trip took part employees of the Institute of Geography, students, pupils, representatives of various professions, more than 45 people than planned earlier. Among the visitors were little members of the Azerbaijani Scout Organization. Anver Aliyev, PhD in agriculture, head of the department of IG, agreed to be guide of this event and perfectly coped with this work. During the tour, he gave full information about history, nature, landscape, as well as national parks and nature reserves protected by the state and made the tour more interesting with his jokes.
First, Hikmet Gambarov, manager of Shirvan State Reserve, met participants of the event in the Shirvan National Park, informed about the area, some geographical objects and Wildlife of the Reserve in the center of tourism, on the basis of maps and photos.
Then tourists visited the research center of the Park, watching gazelles and different kinds of birds. After a snack all returned back and visited the lake of flamingos.
The members of the Azerbaijan Geographical Association, researcher at the Institute of Geography Emil Jabrayilov and IT specialist Uzeyir Mikayilov, taking over the administrative and technical duties perfectly coped with them.
All tour participants unanimously expressed their desire to continue to participate in these trips, which are very useful in terms of walks and information.
