THE FIRST TERRITORIAL PARTY ORGANIZATION MEETING OF THE NEW AZERBAIJAN PARTY HELD AT THE INSTITUTE OF GEOGRAPHY OF THE MINISTRY OF SCIENCE AND EDUCATION OF THE REPUBLIC OF AZERBAIJAN

The first meeting of the territorial party organization of the New Azerbaijan Party (YAP) was held at the Institute of Geography of the Ministry of Science and Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

Opening the event, Acting Director of the Institute of Geography, Doctor of Geographical Sciences, Associate Professor Zaur Imrani, emphasized that the state policy implemented in the country has made a significant contribution to the development of science and education. The meeting began with a one-minute silence in memory of the National Leader of the Azerbaijani people, Heydar Aliyev, and the martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the independence and territorial integrity of the Republic of Azerbaijan. This was followed by the performance of the National Anthem of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the screening of a documentary video dedicated to the National Leader Heydar Aliyev.

Chairman of the Yasamal District Organization of the New Azerbaijan Party, Bakhtiyar Nabiyev, who attended the event, noted in his speech that the entire period of modern independent Azerbaijan's state-building, economic revival, socio-political stability, and social welfare is closely associated with the name of National Leader Heydar Aliyev. He stated that thanks to the far-sighted policy of the National Leader, Azerbaijan's independence was strengthened, statehood traditions were reinforced, and the country's international reputation was significantly enhanced.

Bakhtiyar Nabiyev also spoke about Heydar Aliyev's special attention to science and education. He noted that the National Leader identified the development of the country's intellectual potential as one of the main priorities of state policy, creating opportunities for thousands of Azerbaijani young people to study at prestigious higher education institutions across the former Soviet Union and other countries. As a result of this policy, highly qualified national professionals were trained in various fields, scientific schools developed, and a solid intellectual foundation for the country's future progress was established.

Later, Acting Director of the Institute of Geography Zaur Imrani spoke about the scientific reforms implemented in recent years, the optimization of research institutions, and measures aimed at improving governance. He emphasized that the main objectives of merging scientific institutions and carrying out structural reforms are to ensure more efficient use of scientific potential, coordinate resources through a unified management system, expand multidisciplinary research, and strengthen international cooperation. He added that efforts to enhance scientific capacity, introduce modern management mechanisms, and support young researchers have ushered in a new stage in the development of scientific institutions.

Head of the Scientific Personnel Training Sector, PhD in Geography Museyib Yunusov, then spoke about the activities carried out in the field of scientific personnel training at the Institute. He noted that, as one of the country's leading scientific centers in geographical sciences, the Institute of Geography attaches great importance to the training of highly qualified scientific and academic personnel. He also highlighted the consistent implementation of modern scientific approaches, cooperation with international research institutions, and initiatives aimed at nurturing a new generation of scientists.

At the end of the event, under the moderation of Chairman of the Yasamal District Organization of the New Azerbaijan Party Bakhtiyar Nabiyev, elections were held for the positions of Chairperson and Deputy Chairperson of the Institute's territorial party organization. Acting Director of the Institute of Geography, Doctor of Geographical Sciences, Associate Professor Zaur Imrani, was nominated for the position of Chairperson, while Hamdulla Aliyev was nominated for the position of Deputy Chairperson. During the voting process, both nominations were unanimously approved by the participants.

In his speech, the newly elected Chairperson Zaur Imrani expressed his gratitude for the confidence placed in him. He emphasized that the New Azerbaijan Party, founded under the leadership of National Leader Heydar Aliyev, has played a crucial role in the country's socio-political life, making significant contributions to strengthening statehood, developing civil society, promoting young people, expanding employment opportunities, and ensuring economic progress.

The newly elected Deputy Chairperson Hamdulla Aliyev stated that, while remaining committed to the fundamental principles of the Party, efforts would continue to strengthen unity and solidarity among the Institute's staff, increase the public engagement of young scientists, and support initiatives contributing to the advancement of science.

During the event, PhD in Biology Zaman Mammadov and Mahbuba Fatullayeva also addressed the participants, emphasizing the invaluable role of the New Azerbaijan Party in ensuring stability, development, and national unity in the country. They congratulated the newly elected leadership and expressed confidence that the territorial party organization would play an important role in fostering a healthy scientific environment, strengthening cooperation, enhancing organizational effectiveness, and promoting new initiatives within the Institute.
